When Should My Tree be Taken Down?

It is often difficult to tell when one of your trees should be taken down completely. But there are a few tell-tale signs that your tree needs to be removed.

When the tree is close to your house, shed, or fence and there is a lean towards it, it should be taken down completely. This could pose potential danger to your home or other structure in the area and is best to be removed before it creates a hazard.

When you notice a rot spot on the tree, this could mean you’re tree is dying and decaying from within. The longer a tree decays the more dangerous it becomes and will eventually fall under its own weight. If you notice a rot spot on your tree it is best to remove the tree completely.

If a tree has been struck by lightning or if the tree has been compromised or damage by a wind storm it should be removed completely.
